Jones and Waggoner

Discover what happened to these two men best known for their presentations on righteousness by faith

Elder A. T. Jones and Elder E. J. Waggoner, best known for their presentations on righteousness by faith given at the 1888 General Conference session, came under the influence of Dr. J. H. Kellogg and his book on pantheism, Living Temple. Both finally left the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Ellen White repeatedly warned them of their danger and appealed to them to return to Jesus and to recommit their lives to Him. They ignored her appeals.
